the stories I've been telling
became my truth
-NORALY HENDRIKS
storyteller | musician | (song)writer
Noraly: “Stories have always been the essence of what interests me”.
There is a story in how we move, create, love, breathe and think.
Roald Dahl told us that “those who don’t believe in magic, will never find it”. And Henry Ford said “Whether you think you can, or you think you can't--you're right”. Coming from such different perspectives, nowadays supported by neuro science, we acknowledge the power our thoughts and imagination holds.
Therefor I believe stories -in all different (art) forms they come in-
are essential for both our inner- and outer world.

MEET NORALY
With a background in theatre and poetry, and an education in Art Therapy, expression, storytelling and mental health have always been a thread in Noraly’s projects. Poetry turned into lyrics and after many small acoustic gigs, she made her official musical debut with an electronic indiepop EP ‘Accidentally Happy’. The layered music will soften your walls while the words find their way in.
Her tv-debut at ‘Unplugged’ showed a broader audience how she defines her own genre of music and storytelling.
Het second EP ‘Museum’ became the foundation for ‘Museum’-the experience: an interactive exhibition that takes you on a journey of mental health. Accompanied by a collaboration with photographer and artist Floortje Louise: In their book ‘Fragments’ they invite you to discover the fragile yet powerful essence of inner and outer beauty.
Undefined by media, genre or craft: Noraly is a storyteller, always looking for ways to expand, collaborate and calibrate authenticity.
the stories I’ve been telling
they became my truth
With a background in theatre and poetry, and an education in Art Therapy, expression and mental health have always been a thread in Noraly’s projects. After many small acoustic gigs, her electronic indiepop sound is a step up from - but still very connected to - her singer songwriter roots. The layered music will soften your walls while the words find their way in.
“It always feels like I can write myself home. Whatever the chaos is, inside or around me, this is my way of finding my place in it. Finding clarity or direction. And sometimes there isn’t any and you just have to sit down and feel it.
That’s what I hope my music will do: make people pause and feel, think and hopefully dream. My wish is that these songs don’t fade when the music does, but that it’ll be the start of a conversation. Either with yourself or someone else.
We tell ourselves a thousand stories everyday. All the things we think and believe in shape how we perceive our self and the world.
I used to have many stories that paralyzed me and it has been a tough road away from that. You’ll find some of those times in the lyrics. But mostly, I hope you’ll hear the parts that invite you to live. With everything you are, and aren’t”.
Thank you for being here, thank you for listening.
